Rasor GRT12M | Cutting Unit

The GRT12M is a three-phase cutting unit for thick materials, suitable for technical textile and composite material applications.

Launched a few months ago, it utilizes the new motor support geometry of the Monster series. Unlike all other cutting units, the GRT12M has a motor support held by a central foot, positioned behind the blade in a central location. This system distributes the cutting force and the effort required for the machine to pass through the material on both sides of the cutter. The result is a perfectly straight cut advancement with less effort.

Half of the blade's diameter is free on both sides, a feature that helps avoid winding problems (thread winding behind the blade) with tougher fibers. This is why the GRT12M is particularly suitable for cutting composite materials such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, and Kevlar. The three-phase asynchronous motor is balanced and very quiet. It requires no maintenance, allowing the GRT12M to be used in 24/7 production processes, and coupled with bronze and high-strength steel gears, it offers long-term reliability.

The 120 mm 8-sided blade allows cutting materials up to 50 mm thick, even in multiple layers. The high torque and low blade speed enable it to cut rubbery and plastic-based materials in the field of carpets and industrial flooring. The push-button sharpener allows the blade's cutting edge to be revived in less than ten seconds, without disassembling it.

The cutting base is coated with non-stick Teflon®, allowing the machine to advance effortlessly, reducing friction between the base itself and the material, and allowing the unit to be installed on sliding rails in small spaces. Particularly suitable for cross-cutting, the GRT12M is equipped with a simple anchoring flange to be fixed on fixed or automated brackets. For continuous trimming processes, the GRT12M is also available in a left-hand (mirror image) version, model GRT12SM.
