The new DD120MR is a three-phase cutting unit suitable for textile, technical textile, and composite material applications in production processes.
It utilizes the new Rasor DirectDrive technology, which means the blade is installed on the same axis as the motor. Without a gear coupling, the DD120MR reaches a blade speed of 2600 rpm, perfect for continuous high-speed cutting. The absence of a gear coupling eliminates maintenance processes (e.g., grease lubrication), reducing operating costs and allowing the unit to be used in continuous 24/7 cutting processes.
The new design geometry with a "Monster" central upright eliminates the problem of winding composite materials, i.e., the wrapping of fibers behind the blade; a common problem in normal rotary blade cutting systems originating from the textile industry. The blade and counter-blade cutting system (with a titanium-coated counter-blade as standard) ensures clean and precise cuts, without waste or fraying.
The asynchronous three-phase motor is balanced, very quiet, and maintenance-free, ensuring long-term reliability. The 120 mm 8-sided blade allows cutting of materials up to 50 mm thick, even in multiple layers. Particularly suitable for continuous and cross-cutting, the DD120MR is equipped with a simple anchoring flange for attachment to static or automated brackets.
The cutting base, coated with non-stick Teflon®, allows the machine (or material) to advance with minimal effort, reducing friction and allowing the unit to be installed on sliding rails in confined spaces. The semi-automatic button sharpening system allows the blade to be sharpened in less than 10 seconds, without disassembling it. For continuous trimming processes, the DD120MR is also available in a left-hand (mirror image) version, mod. DD120ML.
Minimal maintenance and low operating costs make the DD120MR the reliable cutting solution for high-speed O.E.M. applications.
